It seems there are just very few transition groups so far, but we would like to ask some of them to join too: Using facebook seems too toxic for people practicing lifestyles which are sustainable in the broadest sense.

yeah, I only saw very few and those that were, not very active.
mastodon is great. but while it is missing a group and event function, it might be not suitable for people that expect such functions to be there.
When joining mastodon with such expectations ppl might become disapointed.
But there're other plattforms that are also part of the fediverse that do so.
#Friendica and #hubzilla for example.
